The people skills that matter in dealing with Stakeholders
Solving Stakeholder Chaos in SaaS DeliveryÂ
Solving Stakeholder Chaos in SaaS Delivery
You've been trained in project management methodologies. Planning, managing the team, Operating the governance. Check, check and check.
Then the sponsor calls out: “What do you mean this is not in scope?” From in control to chaos, just like that.
This book is for trained SaaS Project and Delivery Managers who are tired of the impact of misaligned and vague stakeholders.
It will help you understand the true differentiator in dealing with stakeholders successfully: the human system involved. Clarity, care, and the appropriate relationships that create smooth delivery.

What you’ll get from this Book
You’ll understand the elements that let you work proactively with the stakeholder landscape toward project success so you’re not “falling victim” to the chaos that vagueness and misalignment create.
Inside, you’ll learn to:
Stop being vague about vagueness. Define what vagueness and misalignment actually are, so you can address the real issue.
Quit “managing stakeholders.” Why that posture backfires, erodes credibility, and makes alignment harder.
Work with reality: stakeholders are diverse and often opposing. Different maturity, mandate, experience and incentives across organizations. How to marry those differences without pretending they don’t exist.
Lead without mandate. Since you can’t force alignment, you’ll learn the interpersonal skills that make it happen anyway.
Become the orchestrator and guardian. The clearest description of what your role truly is: protecting clarity, care, and project-appropriate relationships—the power skills that elevate your delivery where it matters most.
"Power skills top the list of the most important capabilities project managers need."

Who this Book is for
This is for Project Managers at B2B SaaS companies who build and implement software for corporate clients.
This is for you if you:
Have multiple years in delivery and have had Project Management methodology training. You have learned (the hard way) that just method isn’t enough. You realize that project work is people work and want the people skills to match.  You take growth seriously, are open-minded, and want to elevate how you work with stakeholders
This book will not help you in applying a quick fix or believe you can "template" your way through complex enterprise stakeholder dynamics. That is not what we stand for.Â

The shift that makes stakeholder work actually work
You don’t need to “manage” a stakeholder landscape. You need to build and maintain the relationships required for project success, using clarity and care as your core skills to allow for that.
Because a functioning stakeholder landscape is defined by one thing: common clarity within it. When you create that, you get the outcomes that matter. A better controlled scope (decisions stick), improved trust with the customer and across the landscape as well as smoother collaboration with your team.
The result: more efficient projects, fewer timeline and budget overruns, and a client who feels genuinely supported.
One warning: Be the part rather than act the part. If not, your behavior will backfire. This is about real leadership, not performance.

Hi! I'm Paul
I’ve worked in software delivery for 25+ years. As a Project Manager, Program Manager, Delivery Manager, and Director of Operations. I’ve also worked on the client side, which taught me how hard it is to create success across organizational boundaries, even with good intent.
I wrote this book because software-driven improvement projects still underdeliver far more than they need to. A lot of it is avoidable. Vendor PMs sit in a unique position to change that. Not by running “better methodology,” but by integrating the human dynamics with the science of project management.
Â
My philosophy is simple: you’re not broken. You’re already capable. Growth matters more than where you stand today. I don’t use fear or scarcity. Just insight you can apply in your real projects.
